From Brest to Gran Canaria via Porto Santo for Deb’s birthday and Madeira for Janusz’s birthday. Our longest passage – 1400 miles and 8 days at sea.

We arrived in Porto Santo at dawn, the first to dock on their brand new pontoon and welcomed by much red tape. We had a memorable lunch with exceedingly good Porto Santo port and celebratory fireworks to end Deb’s birthday.

Madeira

Made the last few miles to Madeira to be greeted by a picture from Robin’s MI5 mum watching us arrive in Funchal. Frantic whistling and waving of arms from the harbour master – no room for us in the inn – so dropped an anchor in the bay so we could play three men in a boat.
Sister Sara flew in for supper and a wander round the Botanical Gardens

A little landslide to entertain our on- board underwriter

Finally made it to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, having only lost two crew members on the way.
